Director of Research & Principal Analyst
As a market research professional with more than 19 years of telecommunications industry research and product marketing experience, Stelyana Baleva is focused on the wireless infrastructure market including 5G RAN, open vRAN, network disaggregation (DCSG), 5G core networks, network automation, and contributing to custom research and consulting projects as part of the TÉRAL RESEARCH analyst team. Stelyana is actively contributing to the telecommunications industry by moderating panels at industry events, most recently at FYUZ, and by being a judge for industry innovation awards, such as the GSMA Global Mobile Awards (the GLOMOS) and the U.S. Broadband Awards (the U.S. Broadband Summit).
Stelyana started her telecommunications industry research career in 2011 when she joined Infonetics Research, which was later acquired by IHS Markit and then by Informa Tech (Omdia) in 2019. During her career, she contributed to numerous syndicated research reports in the areas of mobile infrastructure, telecom network equipment, cloud and data center networks, service provider economics (revenue, capex, opex). Stelyana also served as a Research and Analysis Manager leading a team of research analysts that produced top-notch quality research products and guaranteed the clients’ satisfaction.
Prior to joining the telecommunications industry, Stelyana was a business analyst at Hewlett-Packard and a research analyst at a private consulting company Life Science Strategy Group, where she delivered quantitative and qualitative analysis to support strategic business decisions. Prior to that, over the course of seven years, Stelyana was a Marketing Manager, leading integrated marketing campaigns and establishing brands for L'Oreal dermatological products in Bulgaria. Stelyana holds MBA degree from San Jose State University, California, United States, and a Master of Science in Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Sofia University, Bulgaria.
